Catholic School: Sacraments

If your child needs to be baptized, or was baptized outside of the Catholic faith, please contact Bernadette Warshawsky.

For questions specific to First Eucharist, please contact Lori Mathews. For questions specific to Confirmation, please contact Trish Martin.

Preparing for First Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist

Our First Eucharist process for children in second to seventh grade takes place within our parish RECEIVE program. RECEIVE includes a parent-child orientation for each Sacrament, two parent-child mini retreat experiences and an at home activity booklet that supplements the Sacramental process.

Second Grade: If your child attended Catholic school or Catholic faith formation in first grade, they will need to be registered in RECEIVE: First Eucharist, Catholic School. If your child did not attend Catholic school or Catholic faith formation in first grade, they will need to be registered in RECEIVE: First Eucharist Grade Two and will attend weekly faith formation sessions in addition to their religion class at school.

Third to Seventh Grade: Older elementary and middle school youth will need to be registered in RECEIVE according to their grade level and will attend weekly faith formation sessions in addition to their religion class at school.

Preparing for Confirmation

In the Diocese of Charlotte, the Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the spring of eighth grade or older. Preparation for Confirmation takes place in two parts. The first part, known as “remote preparation” is two consecutive years and may take place in Catholic school or Faith Formation; the second part, known as “proximate preparation” takes place within the parish, and the youth must be registered with the Office of Faith Formation to prepare. For specific questions regarding Confirmation, please contact Trish Martin.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of supporting your family through the Sacramental process.
